BIOGRAPHY
Yen Chan graduated from The University of Hong Kong, majoring in Music and Linguistics. She studied further at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and obtained a Master of Arts in Music. She started receiving piano training at the age of 6. She then studied with pianist Miss Grace Lively Stones Lau and obtained LTCL in piano performance with distinction. Yen also has a solid and deep understanding in orchestral instruments and vocal as well. She has obtained ABRSM Grade 8 of vocal, flute and violin with merit, and Grade 5 of clarinet with distinction. She has also obtained a foundation certificate in music therapy from the University of Hong Kong, School of Profesional and Continuing Education.
Yen has been passionate in music and decided to be a music educationalist since she was young. Therefore, after graduating from the universities, she has been devoted to music education by being a piano teacher and an accompanist for many years. She was also a secondary school teacher, teaching music and some other subjects such as English and Mathematics. She has passed the Language Proficiency Assessment for Teachers (LPAT) in English Language.
